DCA Thrift Shop
For nearly 100 years, the DCA Thrift Shop has assisted and delighted our community with its donated clothing and household items. The Thrift Shop is run by volunteers and sees over 12,000 customers a year. As part of its community outreach, the Shop hosts a Sustainable Fashion Show every year and has a long tradition of partnering with other non-profits such as Pacific House, Inspirica, Toys for Tots, Person-to-Person and Post 53.
DCA Bird Sanctuary and Nature Trail
DCA Bird Sanctuary and Nature Trail is open to the public and provides nearly four serene acres of swooping trails among majestic trees, native plantings, open spaces and water features. Generously supported by The Darien Foundation and maintained entirely by volunteers, this quiet and thriving space provides nesting sites for birds and insects and a classroom for all who visit.
DCA Greenhouse
Situated on eight acres, the DCA Meadowlands estate is home to a Lord and Burnham Greenhouse. Today, the Greenhouse Group is proud to be able to keep this historic working greenhouse in operation. Throughout the year, the group propagates plants from seed, cuttings, and plugs (small plants) for the DCA’s annual plant sale in May.
